There is a guy in Germany, Cornelius, who came up with suspension forks, we already reported about him here: http://downhill24.bike/intend-forks-interview-ceo/
A few days ago he released a real innovation. He mentioned the difference of handlebar-stiffness of a single and a doublecrown – and he has a solution for it. This is what he claimes.
It’s a patented upper headset which works with a radial- and an axial-needlebearing and a stiff clamped cap of the headset. For all single crowned bikes (CC-AM-Enduro) this headset should increase the riding stiffness of the cockpit and comes close to a downhill bike from the feeling. We are curious…
It should increase the stiffness of singlecrown-steerertubes to have a more solid ride for hard corners.
The system weighs only 30g more than a traditional headset with much bigger bearings inside, so it also lasts longer than normal ones.
Fits on ZS44 frames, will be available in black and blue. One single piece spacer is included.
Cornelius also offers a stem called Grace EN.
31,8mm handlebar (35mm coming soon)
4 Titan bolts included (black)
max handlebar rise 20-25mm
stiff and durable
And to complete the cockpit, you can adjust the headset play with Smarty, one of the worlds lightes wedges with 12g totaly.
All products will be available end of summer 2017, but preorders are still possible
